SPEECH JUDGE (8:00am – 4:00pm)
- Responsibilities include evaluating prepared and impromptu speeches with 1-2 other judges, ensuring participants are in the correct room and adhere to the schedule, attending a mandatory orientation, and picking up a packet at registration.
INTERVIEW JUDGE (8:00 am – 4:00 pm)
- Judges must be at least 18 years old and one year out of high school. Responsibilities include evaluating participant performance based on predetermined criteria with 1-2 other judges, ensuring participants are in the correct room and adhere to their scheduled times, attending a mandatory orientation, and picking up a registration packet.
SUPER QUIZ PROCTOR & SUPER QUIZ ASSISTANT (5:00 pm – 7:30 pm)
- The Super Quiz is a fast-paced team competition testing students' knowledge across seven subjects. Proctors ensure fair play by managing answer sheets, monitoring the competition, and sometimes assisting with scoring. This high-energy event highlights students’ knowledge and teamwork.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AND ADDITIONAL ADULT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES!
- Community service hours available, if needed.
SPEECH/INTERVIEW ESCORT/RUNNER (8:00 am – 4:00 pm)
- Volunteers must be at least 16 years old (those under 18 require a signed guardian release form) and are responsible for ensuring participants adhere to the schedule, directing them to and from speech and interview rooms, and keeping hallways clear of unauthorized individuals. All volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation session on the morning of the event.
SPEECH ROOM MONITOR (8:00 am – 4:00 pm)
- Volunteers for this event must be at least 16 years old (those under 18 require a signed guardian release form) and will support judges by keeping time and performing other duties as needed. Attendance at a mandatory orientation session on the morning of the event is also required.
