On January 1, Academic Decathlon was represented at the famous California Rose Parade float alongside its valued partner, the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley & Eastside, celebrating this year’s theme: Kindness Is Free.
The float tells a powerful story. The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf are working together, and the wolf is no longer tearing things down. He is helping build a home, which is a reminder that strong communities are built through positive choices and people who decide to contribute.
That message aligns beautifully with Academic Decathlon’s purpose. Academic Decathlon is a competition, but it is also a nationwide community where kindness, teamwork, and sportsmanship matter. We are grateful for the opportunity to share this message alongside our partner.
